Rev. Dr. A’Shellarien Addison serves as the Lead Elder for Bethel Ministry and Diocese, Inc., bringing a distinguished record of spiritual leadership, theological scholarship, trauma-informed ministry, military chaplaincy, and community empowerment. Her multifaceted ministry and professional service reflect a lifelong commitment to healing, leadership development, mental wellness advocacy, and faith-centered transformation across ecclesiastical, military, academic, and community settings.
A Board Certified Army Chaplain and spiritual clinical trauma-informed practitioner, Rev. Dr. Addison is recognized nationally and internationally for her work at the intersection of theology, emotional healing, leadership, and spiritual care. She currently serves as Chaplain Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) within the Delaware Army National Guard, where she made history as the first woman to serve as Chaplain in the more than 240-year history of the Delaware Army National Guard. Her military service includes deployment with the 198th Expeditionary Signal Battalion in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (Spartan Shield) in 2019, as well as serving as the first Army National Guard Headquarters Battalion and Temple Army Readiness Center Installation Chaplain at the National Guard Bureau in Arlington, Virginia. She currently serves as Chaplain for the Delaware Army National Guard’s 261st Theater Tactical Signal Brigade.
Rev. Dr. Addison’s educational and professional credentials reflect extraordinary depth in theology, traumatology, ministry, and pastoral care. She holds an Associate of Arts in Early Childhood Education, a Bachelor of Science in Urban Ministry Leadership, a Master of Divinity, a Master of Sacred Theology, and a Doctor of Theology in Biblical Theology. She is currently completing a Doctor of Education in Traumatology at Liberty University. In addition, she has completed four units of Clinical Pastoral Education and holds certification in Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy through the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE). Her specialized training also includes Marriage and Family Therapy studies through the Council for Relationships in Philadelphia and completion of the Mental Health Integration for Chaplain Services (MHICS) program through the Uniformed Services University.
An ordained Itinerant Elder within the African Methodist Episcopal Church, Rev. Dr. Addison serves on the ministerial staff of Mother Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her ministry leadership is distinguished by her emphasis on emotional healing, trauma recovery, women’s empowerment, spiritual resilience, and holistic faith formation.
Beyond ministry and military service, Rev. Dr. Addison is a prolific author, publisher, international speaker, mentor, wife, mother, and grandmother. She hosts A Healing Moment With Dr. A’Shellarien on REACH Gospel Radio and serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Desakajo’s Flo, a multifaceted enterprise encompassing publishing, record production, credit empowerment, and travel services. She also serves as a Senior Sales Associate for LifeVantage, supporting wellness-centered initiatives and education.

Dr. Addison has authored an extensive collection of books addressing theology, trauma, leadership, women’s empowerment, faith, mental health, relationships, spiritual growth, and children’s empowerment literature.
